Fully Equipped Document Examination Laboratory

Our examination laboratory is surrounded by glass so that visitors to the laboratory can witness the examination process as it is being conducted by the Forensic Document Examiner.

The laboratory contains a Video Spectral Comparator (VSC), two high magnification microscopes, an ElectroStatic Detection Apparatus (ESDA), various hand magnifiers and numerous scanners, photo printers and computers. Each computer is also equipped with the latest software including PhotoShop, PageMaker and WriteOn to assist the examiner in the examination process.

Laboratory

HFQDL, Inc. is a state of the art laboratory. It is fully equipped for every aspect of nondestructive document examination. The laboratory is equipped with all the instrumentation necessary to determine the authenticity and authorship of a document. The laboratory at HFQDL, Inc. is clearly visible from the conference room as it is enclosed in glass.

Visitors to the lab are welcomed to observe the examination of the documents by the document examiner and laboratory technicians from the conference room. Only the trained personnel of HFQDL, Inc. are permitted in the laboratory area during the examination process This is for the protection and safety of the employees and visitors to the lab.

Hart & Flores Questioned Document Laboratory, Inc., (HFQDL) formerly, Hart Questioned Document Laboratory, Inc. (HQDL), was established in 1979 by Linda J. Hart, one of the most well known and respected questioned document examiners in Miami-Dade and Broward County Florida. In 1998, Dianne C. Flores joined HQDL as a laboratory technician. During the years that followed Mrs. Flores was responsible not only for handling the documents submitted for examination, but also for assisting in the preparation of comparison charts, preparing composites and demonstratives as well as processing the documents on the ESDA for evidence of latent writing impressions.

In 2004, Mrs. Flores began her official two year training under the tutelage of Linda J. Hart. As part of her training Dianne Flores attended various workshops offered by the leading professional organizations in the field of questioned documents. Since completing her training, Dianne Flores has been retained by Florida International University to train beginning document examiners from the Dominican Republic. She has also testified for both State and Federal courts in both civil and criminal cases in Miami-Dade, Broward, St. Lucie County and West Palm Beach County Florida.

Dianne Flores is now president and owner of HFQDL, Inc. She is a regular member of the Southeastern Association of Questioned Document Examiners and a trainee member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. She has earned an Associate in Science in Legal Assisting, a Bachelor of Art in Business Management and a Master of Forensic Sciences Adminstration as well as a Graduate Certificate in the examination of questioned documents.
